Artists Statement

My focus is painting nature with oil. I work with traditional techniques and make some of my own paint and canvases. I love to use brilliant color to paint the serenity of stunning landscapes and luminous skies, people and animals in natural environments and still life compositions lush with fruit and flowers.

I admire the Hudson River Landscape Painters of America’s 19th century. They feared industrialization was going to destroy our connection with nature. One hundred years later my philosophy is to protect and document my small patch of the earth. I hope to preserve my view of nature’s precious gifts that supports our lives and feeds our souls.
